## Download an icon in three steps

### Find the icon you need

Real-time search shows results as you type. Every family shares the same categories, so one search covers all of them.

### Pick the style and set the colour

Save your brand colours in Streamline and apply them to a whole set in one click, previewing before you export.

### Export as SVG or PNG

SVG stays editable in code and design tools. PNG bakes it in, ready for slides, documents, and email.

## Families drawn with a uniform stroke

Core, Flex, Sharp, Plump and Ultimate. Free and pro counts per style.

### Line

The most standard style. Simple, clean outlines with uniform stroke widths, conveying clarity and neutrality, and adapting to light and dark backgrounds.

## Where these sets get used

### Where it is the wrong choice

Core Line contributes no personality by design, so a brand that needs the icons to carry identity will not get it here. At 64px and above the stripped-back construction starts to read as sparse rather than clean.

### Dashboards that should not have a point of view

Core is the Helvetica of icons: SaaS dashboards, admin panels, developer tools and settings screens, where the icons are infrastructure and the content is the thing. It works inside any design system without competing with it.

### Platforms other people build on

If third parties ship inside your product, an opinionated icon set becomes their problem as well as yours. Core stays neutral enough that a partner brand can sit next to it without a clash.

## What monoline means

A monoline icon uses the same stroke width on every path, with no thick-and-thin modulation. Simple, clean outlines with uniform stroke widths, which is what makes a set of them look like one system rather than a collection of drawings.

The opposite is a calligraphic or hand-drawn line, where the width changes along the path. Freehand does that deliberately, and it reads as warm and personal precisely because the stroke is not uniform.

## Where uniform stroke pays off

Consistency at scale. A hundred icons drawn at one width sit together in a toolbar without any of them pulling focus, and they stay balanced against body text because the stroke can be matched to the type weight.

It also survives resizing better. A modulated stroke has a thinnest point, and that point is what disappears first when the icon is scaled down. A uniform stroke has no weakest link.

## What free covers

No sign up required. Free downloads ask for attribution, a credit link wherever the icons appear, which Pro and Lifetime plans remove. That is 109,582 free icons across 34 families, with 333,032 more on Pro.

Yes, you can use them for all personal and commercial projects. Each icon, free or premium, is optimized for large-size exports, ensuring visual clarity and sharpness. So, you can avoid pixelation or blur.

## Frequently asked questions

Quick answers about this style.

### What is a monoline icon?

An icon drawn with a single, unvarying stroke width across every path. The term describes the construction rather than a specific set, and most line icon families are monoline by default.

### Is monoline the same as line?

In practice, almost. Line describes the absence of fill; monoline describes the stroke being uniform. Nearly all line icon sets are monoline, so the terms get used interchangeably. A set that is line but not monoline would be something like Freehand, where the width varies on purpose.

### Can I change the stroke width?

Yes, on Line styles. Streamline lets you adjust line thickness before exporting, so the icons can be matched to the weight of your type. Changing it keeps the stroke uniform, which is the point of a monoline set.

### Are these icons free to download?

Yes. 109,582 icons across 34 families are free, with no sign up required. Free downloads ask for attribution, a credit link wherever the icons appear, which [Pro and Lifetime](https://www.streamlinehq.com/pricing) plans remove. See [SVG icons](/svg-icons.md) for the format itself.
