## Export a 32px icon in three steps

### Find the icon you need

Real-time search shows results as you type, across every family. Every family shares the same categories.

### Export SVG, or PNG at 32px

SVG scales to any size and stays sharp. For PNG, export well above the final size and scale down rather than exporting at it directly.

### Drop it where it belongs

Works in Figma, VS Code, React, or any tool that accepts SVG. Stroke thickness is adjustable on every Line style.

## Core at 32px

The Helvetica of icons, on a 14px grid. Free and pro counts per style.

### Core

Core is the Helvetica of icons, stripped to its essential form with generous spacing. 998 free icons across 8 styles.

## Where Core gets used

### Where it is the wrong choice

Core Line contributes no personality by design, so a brand that needs the icons to carry identity will not get it here. At 64px and above the stripped-back construction starts to read as sparse rather than clean.

### Dashboards that should not have a point of view

Core is the Helvetica of icons: SaaS dashboards, admin panels, developer tools and settings screens, where the icons are infrastructure and the content is the thing. It works inside any design system without competing with it.

### Platforms other people build on

If third parties ship inside your product, an opinionated icon set becomes their problem as well as yours. Core stays neutral enough that a partner brand can sit next to it without a clash.

## Micro at 32px

A 10px grid, the smallest in any commercial icon set.

### Micro

Micro is built on a tiny 10px grid, with no room for unnecessary detail. Every stroke serves legibility. 200 free icons across 2 styles.

* **Micro Line**: [200 free icons](https://www.streamlinehq.com/icons/micro-line-free), [2,035 pro icons](https://www.streamlinehq.com/icons/micro-line)
* **Micro Solid**: [200 free icons](https://www.streamlinehq.com/icons/micro-solid-free), [2,035 pro icons](https://www.streamlinehq.com/icons/micro-solid)

## Where Micro gets used

### Icons that behave like punctuation

Micro is drawn on a 10px grid for inline text actions, data tables, chips, filters and breadcrumbs. It is the only family built specifically to sit inside a line of text rather than beside it.

### The density layer, not the whole system

Micro works best alongside a primary family: Core or Ultimate handles navigation and onboarding, Micro handles tables and inline actions. Used alone above 20px the simplification reads as unfinished.

## Streamline Material at 32px

Google's geometry, redrawn for coverage and consistency.

### Streamline Material

Like Google's Material Icons, but better: redrawn from scratch for consistency. 999 free icons per style across 6 styles.

## Where Streamline Material gets used

### Material vocabulary without the gaps

Streamline Material follows Google's own geometry rules, redrawn for consistency and expanded well past the original set. It suits Android and cross-platform products where users expect Material conventions.

## What 32px is actually for

A favicon carries 16, 32 and 48 inside a single .ico file, and 32 is the one a browser tab usually shows. Windows toolbars and shortcut overlays land here too.

At 32 pixels an icon has roughly a thousand pixels to work with, which sounds generous until a stroke and its counter both have to fit inside the same three of them. Sets drawn on a small grid keep the interior open; sets drawn at 24 or 48 and scaled down close it up.

## Export once, from vector

Each icon, free or premium, is optimized for large-size exports, ensuring visual clarity and sharpness. So, you can avoid pixelation or blur. An SVG covers every size a platform asks for without a second trip to the library.

No sign up required. Free downloads ask for attribution, a credit link wherever the icons appear, which Pro and Lifetime plans remove. That covers 109,582 free icons across 34 families, with 333,032 more on Pro.

## Frequently asked questions

Quick answers about 32px icons.

### What is a 32x32 icon used for?

Favicons, toolbar buttons, Windows shortcut icons, and system tray items. A Windows .ico file usually packs 16, 32, 48 and 256 pixel versions into one file, and 32 is the size most often displayed in a browser tab on a standard-density screen.

### How do I make a 32x32 favicon?

Export the icon as PNG at a high resolution, then resize down to 32 and save into an .ico alongside the 16 and 48 versions. Exporting straight to 32 pixels gives a softer result than exporting large and scaling down, because the renderer has more information to work from.

### Should I export a 32px PNG or an SVG?

SVG wherever the destination accepts it, since one file covers every size and stays editable. Where only a raster file will do, export several times larger and scale down: exporting directly at the target size gives a softer result. See [SVG icons](/svg-icons.md) and [PNG icons](/png-icons.md) for the formats themselves.

### Are 32px icons free to download?

Yes. 109,582 icons across 34 families are free, at any size, with no sign up required. Free downloads ask for attribution, a credit link wherever the icons appear, which [Pro and Lifetime](https://www.streamlinehq.com/pricing) plans remove.
